Before relocating from the Silicon Valley, Mackworth worked with GammaLink, a computer-based fax startup; was a marketing executive at 3Com Corporation; and worked in engineering, marketing, and finance for Apple Computer before it went public. His academic background includes a B.A. in computer studies and an M.B.A., both from Stanford University. Milton R. Smith Milton R. Smith is president of Smith Investments, an investing and consulting firm. He also is one of the founders and the former president and CEO of ThrustMaster, Inc. (NASDAQ TMSR); and a co-founder and the former chairman, president and CEO of Floating Point Systems, Inc. (NYSE FLP). Smith has also served as chairman, president and/or CEO of four other high-technology companies in both hardware and software areas. He has been an officer and/or director of four companies which have gone public. He completed terms as chairman and vice chairman of the Oregon Council of the American Electronics Association (AEA) and as a member of the national board of directors of AEA. He has previously been a member of the boards of 11 other high-technology companies and of four other non-profit organizations. He is a member of the Oregon State University Engineering Hall of Fame.
Wyatt Starnes has spent more than 30 years in high technology, with eight different startups. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SignaCert, Inc., a software company focusing on integrity verification for commercial and government enterprises. In addition, he is the Cofounder of RAINS (Regional Alliances for Infrastructure and Network Security), a nonprofit public/private alliance formed to accelerate development, deployment and adoption of innovative technology for homeland security. Prior to SignaCert, he was the Founder, President and CEO of Tripwire, Inc, the world's leading provider of change auditing software. Starnes has also held executive and director positions for Infinite Pictures, Eclipse Technologies, Trisys, Megatest, Data General Corporation, Monolithic Memories and Maruman Integrated Circuits. Mr. Starnes is a member of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Visiting Committee on Advanced Technologies (VCAT) and a member of the Oregon Executive Council of the American Electronics Association (AeA). He also sits on the board of Comprehensive Intelligence Technology Training Corporation (CINTT) of Annapolis, Maryland and the Advisory Board of Applied Identity, San Francisco, California. Rob Theis Rob Theis is currently a general partner at DCM, a venture capital firm committed to funding early-stage technology companies. Theis invests in enterprise/Internet software, technology-enabled business services, storage, security, wireless, and mobile applications. Theis currently serves on the board of directors for JasperSoft, NeoPath Networks, PGP Corporation, Roamware, SignaCert, Spoke Software, Vernier Networks, Vindicia, and WorkSoft. Prior to joining DCM, Theis was executive vice president for New Era of Networks (NEON). Theis was instrumental in leading NEON through a successful IPO and grew the company to $200 million in revenues. Prior to NEON, Theis spent 10 years at Sun Microsystems, where he carried out successful growth strategies in various executive roles, including managing director of the Financial Services Industry Group, a strategic business unit which had responsibilities for driving a billion dollars in sales of computer equipment and integration services worldwide. Prior to Sun, Theis was a marketing manager at Silicon Graphics and launched SGI's initial workstations in the early 1980s. Theis started his career at McDonnell Douglas Corporations (Boeing) selling timesharing services. Theis was awarded the Honors Scholarship at the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned a B.A. degree in economics.
