Hugh Mackworth has 25 years of successful high-tech executive and management experience. In addition, Mackworth is chair of the board of iMove, chair of the board of trustees of the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), chair of the Entrepreneur Foundation of the Northwest, and is currently on the board of TechTracker, Attensa, and the Software Association of Oregon. He is also the founder of the Oregon Entrepreneurs Forum's Portland Angel Network, a network of private investors and Angel Oregon Conference.

Mackworth formerly served as founding CEO of Digimarc Corporation (NASDAQ:DMRC), since named Oregon's fastest growing company. Before relocating from the Silicon Valley, Mackworth worked with GammaLink, a computer-based fax startup; was a marketing executive at 3Com Corporation; and worked in engineering, marketing, and finance for Apple Computer before it went public. His academic background includes a B.A. in computer studies and an M.B.A., both from Stanford University.
Milton R. Smith
President of Smith Investments
Milton R. Smith is president of Smith Investments, an investing and consulting firm. He also is one of the founders and the former president and CEO of ThrustMaster, Inc. (NASDAQ TMSR); and a co-founder and the former chairman, president and CEO of Floating Point Systems, Inc. (NYSE FLP). Smith has also served as chairman, president and/or CEO of four other high-technology companies in both hardware and software areas. He has been an officer and/or director of four companies which have gone public. He completed terms as chairman and vice chairman of the Oregon Council of the American Electronics Association (AEA) and as a member of the national board of directors of AEA. He has previously been a member of the boards of 11 other high-technology companies and of four other non-profit organizations. He is a member of the Oregon State University Engineering Hall of Fame.
Wyatt Starnes
Founder and CEO
Wyatt Starnes has spent more than 30 years in high technology, with eight different startups. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SignaCert, Inc., a software company focusing on integrity verification for commercial and government enterprises. In addition, he is the Cofounder of RAINS (Regional Alliances for Infrastructure and Network Security), a nonprofit public/private alliance formed to accelerate development, deployment and adoption of innovative technology for homeland security.
Prior to SignaCert, he was the Founder, President and CEO of Tripwire, Inc, the world's leading provider of change auditing software. Starnes has also held executive and director positions for Infinite Pictures, Eclipse Technologies, Trisys, Megatest, Data General Corporation, Monolithic Memories and Maruman Integrated Circuits.
Mr. Starnes is a member of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Visiting Committee on Advanced Technologies (VCAT) and a member of the Oregon Executive Council of the American Electronics Association (AeA). He also sits on the board of Comprehensive Intelligence Technology Training Corporation (CINTT) of Annapolis, Maryland and the Advisory Board of Applied Identity, San Francisco, California.
Scott Alberts
Venture Partner of DCM
Scott Alberts has over 25 years of industry experience including solid state lighting and semiconductors/embedded systems. His areas of expertise include strategic marketing and business development, along with finance, mergers and acquisitions, and Wall Street investor relations. Scott has held senior management positions and consulted with multinational corporations, start-ups, and venture firms.
As a Venture Partner, Scott focuses on Cleantech and Component investment opportunities and helps DCM portfolio companies with product strategies, business development, and strategic alliances. His areas of interest include digital video, solid state lighting, and energy management.
Prior to joining DCM, Scott provided strategic consulting to companies such as Agilent, Broadcom, Fortinet, and Sand Video. Previously, he was co-founder of WebPartner, a venture-backed start-up providing web performance management software. Earlier, Scott spent ten years with Oak Technology, joining the company as its first marketing manager and playing a key role in growing the company from a start-up to $250M in revenue and a successful IPO and secondary. He created Oak’s business development program, executing several acquisitions, including Pixel Magic, which firmly established Oak as a leader in the digital imaging market. Scott started his career at Hewlett Packard’s Components Group (now Avago Technologies & Philips-Lumileds) where he led the LED automotive marketing efforts and later established a successful Japan market development program.
Scott holds a BS degree in Engineering from the University of California, Davis and has completed the Advanced Management Program at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
