Hugh Mackworth, Chairman

Managing Partner of SmartForest Ventures

Hugh Mackworth, Managing Partner of SmartForest Ventures, has 25 years of high technology, executive and management experience. In addition, Mr. Mackworth is chair of the Board of iMove and Attensa, former chair of the Board of Trustees of OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry), chair of the Entrepreneur Foundation of the Northwest, and is currently on the board of TechTracker and the Software Association of Oregon. He is the founder of the Oregon Entrepreneurs Forum's Portland Angel Network, a network of private investors, and the Angel Oregon Conference. He formerly served as founding CEO of Digimarc Corporation (NASDAQ:DMRC). Before relocating from the Silicon Valley, Mr. Mackworth worked with GammaLink, a computer-based fax startup, was a marketing executive at 3Com Corporation, and worked in engineering, marketing and finance for Apple Computer before it went public. He has a BA in computer studies and an MBA, both from Stanford University.

Scott Alberts

Venture Partner of DCM

Scott Alberts, Venture Partner at Doll Capital Management, has more than 25 years of industry experience. His areas of expertise include strategic marketing and business development, along with finance, mergers and acquisitions, as well as Wall Street investor relations. Mr. Alberts has held senior management positions and consulted with multinational corporations, start-ups and venture firms.Mr. Alberts helps DCM portfolio companies with product strategies, business development and strategic alliances. His areas of interest include digital video, solid state lighting and energy management. Prior to joining DCM, he provided strategic consulting to companies such as Agilent, Broadcom, Fortinet and Sand Video and was a co-founder of WebPartner. Mr. Alberts spent ten years with Oak Technology, joining the company as its first marketing manager and playing a key role in growing the business from a start-up to $250 million in revenue and a successful IPO and secondary. He created Oak's business development program, executing several acquisitions, including Pixel Magic. Mr. Alberts started his career at Hewlett Packard's Components Group (now Avago Technologies & Philips-Lumileds) where he led the LED automotive marketing efforts and later established a successful Japan market development program.

Milton R. Smith

President of Smith Investments

Milton Smith, the President of Smith Investments, is one of the founders and the former president and CEO of ThrustMaster, Inc. and a co-founder and the former chairman, president and CEO of Floating Point Systems, Inc. Mr. Smith served as chairman, president and/or CEO of four other high-technology companies in both the hardware and software areas. He has been an officer and/or director of four companies which have gone public. He completed terms as chairman and vice chairman of the Oregon Council of the American Electronics Association (AEA) and was a member of the national board of directors of AEA. He has previously been a member of the boards of 11 other high-technology companies and of four other non-profit organizations. Mr. Smith is a member of the Oregon State University Engineering Hall of Fame.

Wyatt Starnes

SignaCert, Inc. Founder and CEO

Wyatt Starnes has more than 30 years experience in high technology, with eight different startups. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SignaCert, Inc. In addition, he is the Cofounder of RAINS (Regional Alliances for Infrastructure and Network Security), a nonprofit public/private alliance formed to accelerate development, deployment and adoption of innovative technology for homeland security. Prior to SignaCert, he was the Founder, President and CEO of Tripwire, Inc. Wyatt also held executive and director positions for Infinite Pictures, Eclipse Technologies, Trisys, Megatest, Data General Corporation, Monolithic Memories and Maruman Integrated Circuits. Wyatt is a former member of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Visiting Committee on Advanced Technologies (VCAT), the Oregon Executive Council of the American Electronics Association (AeA) as well as the Comprehensive Intelligence Technology Training Corporation (CINTT) of Annapolis, Maryland.
